BUT HOW?

As already mentioned, Dragon DI has worked historically with feature films. Whether those films are shot 35mm, or HD, we film-out to negative for theatrical release at 2K, which means we conduct all our post at the native resolution that the image was originally captured at – usually 2K.

This is a greater resolution than HD, with a much bigger colour space, which means that every one of our post production workstations have to have the firepower to work at film resolution in real time. For us, working at HD is a big step down in resolution, rather than a big step up.
